The East Liverpool Historical Society has been preserving local for history for over 100 years.

The East Liverpool Historical Society has been preserving local for history for over 100 years. One can learn about the early pottery industry that was at one time central to the region’s growth, or connect with the past through personal letters or donated art works. The East Liverpool Historical Society also partners with local groups for events like the Pottery Festival and a Christmas Walk. One especially interesting site is the historic Thompson House, located at 300 Walnut Street, which was built as a residence for the family of Cassius C. Thompson, owner of he C. C. Thompson Pottery in the late nineteenth century. The Thompson House features classic Victorian architecture and furnishings, all of which are interpreted by museum staff. It also offers a sweeping view of the Ohio River from its third-floor tower.
