The First Ladies National Historic Site offers a unique and impressive look at the lives of America’s First Ladies. The Ida Saxton McKinley Home is a fully restored Victorian house, originally built in 1841, that highlights both the everyday lives and Victorian grandeur of the William and Ida McKinley’s family life. Victorian-era photographs and costumes are also on display, and tours guided by docents are available by appointment. The nearby Education and Research Center houses a replica of First Lady Abigail Fillmore’s book collection from her time in the White House, as well as an upstairs section with more information and research materials.
