Famous Foods in Cleveland, Ohio

A historic market for contemporary palates, the West Side Market is a must-see when visiting Cleveland.

Located in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, the West Side Market is Cleveland's oldest continuously operating indoor/outdoor market. Opened in 1912, the market incorporates a Neo-Classical or Byzantine style with a 44-foot high vaulted ceiling and topped with a clock towering 137 feet above the street. The building features 100 stalls for sellers and an 85-stall outdoor arcade.

Today, the West Side Market is known nationwide for its diverse variety of vendors who offer food from Irish, German, Slovene, Italian, Hungarian, Greek, Polish, Russian, and Middle Eastern traditions. In 2008, the American Planning Association recognized the West Side Market as one of its Ten Great Places in America.
